Human Concerns Committee
The Mission of the Human Concerns Committee is to educate and support parishioners of St. Anthony on the Lake in opportunities to bring God’s work and hope to others within the parish and beyond.
The jubilee of our Lord’s birth and ours calls us “to bring glad tidings to the poor…to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free.” Luke 4:18
Sacred Scripture and our tradition of Catholic social teaching emphasize that every Christian is called to serve others and to work for justice. The Human Concerns committee discerns the needs of parishioners and people in our wider community, especially poor, hungry, and homeless people. We identify resources that help meet their needs and offer our parish family opportunities for active service to God’s people. We also seek to educate and raise consciousness on issues related to justice and peace.
