Reflections on the Advent Scripture Readings

Reflections on the Advent Scripture Readings

Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation. The Scripture readings for Sundays in Advent are some of the most inspiring of the whole liturgical year, as they encourage us to wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior.

You are invited to take a closer look at the Advent Scripture readings by participating in a four-part series  – much like an “Advent Book Club” –  facilitated by Al McCauley. You may choose to attend either the morning sessions from 11:00am-12:00pm (childcare is available with pre-registration) or the evening sessions from 6:00-7:00pm.

There is a participant fee of $15 per person, which includes a copy of the 2022 Workbook for Lectors. This resource contains the Sunday readings for the entire liturgical year, and will provide context to what we will read and discuss. We will use this workbook again in the Spring when we gather for the Lenten Scripture Reflection series, so this is a one-time fee.
