Encountering God’s Call; Visio Divina and the Saints
This week we had two very different activities for families with children of different ages. Families with young children researched a Saint and created a poster to share with other families. If you missed the session and would like to create your own Saint poster you can follow the direction in our Folder Contents page.
Families with older children heard a witness talk from Cindi Petre on her recent call to return to school, which led to an encounter during a trip to the Holy Land. She guided families through the experience of Visio Divina with the painting by Daniel Cariola, entitled Encounter. You can see the painting below, and follow the directions for Visio Divina found in our Folder Contents page.
Our take-home Scripture Card for this week is Luke 19:10: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and save what was lost.”
The discussion questions are: What does it mean to be lost? When have you felt lost? How can an encounter with Christ help us when we feel lost?
During the parent session, Al McCauley gave a presentation on how we are called to be people of hope, despite the monotony and challenges of life.
We pack House of Peace Holiday Food boxes next time at Family Program. This project works if every family donates the specific items they were assigned to bring. Bring your items on November 17 or 18, or, if you know you won’t be here, drop them off ahead of time, marked with your family name and homeroom. Thank you so much for your donation! Click and scroll through our alphabetical list to find your assignment.
