When Parents and Children are in Different Places

Lessons from St. Monica & St. Augustine

Wednesday, August 26th @ 6:00pm in Church.

It can be difficult to cope when parents and children are not on the same page on issues of belief, identity, or morality. The potential estrangement is real and painful. However, our Christian faith is one of hope and new life – even in the midst of suffering. The relationship between St. Monica and her restless son, St. Augustine, can serve as a model of restoration and perseverance through prayer and trust in God.

If you are a parent or grandparent who has found yourself on different sides of a significant issue, please consider joining Dr. Kathie Amidei and Al McCauley for a time of presentation and prayer. With St. Monica and St. Augustine as an example, we hope to highlight the bonds that sustain relationships and offer a message of hope and solidarity. We’ll conclude our time together with an opportunity to bring our needs to God with Eucharistic adoration.
