Jim Luther New Hope Center and Food Pantry (Formerly St. Hyacinth Food Pantry)

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.  I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.  Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me”  Matthew 24:35,40

Potential clients please visit Jim Luther New Hope Center's Facebook page or their website for more information.

Jim Luther New Hope Center Food Pantry supports the poor living in the zip codes of 53221 and 53215 on the near south side of Milwaukee. Our primary mission is to feed the hungry and we do so with compassion and care by also providing on-site basic nursing assistance. The program is designed to help families obtain food on a monthly basis to supplement their grocery needs. At the pantry, volunteers help sort and distribute food, clothing and hygiene items. The pantry is open for clients to shop on Tuesday’s from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and Wednesday’s from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Volunteers are welcome to help at these times.

Clients are welcome to visit once a month to receive a combination of meat, poultry, cheese, yogurt, milk, vegetables, fruit, and various non-perishable items all in accordance with the federal guidelines and healthy food guide pyramid.

Jim Luther New Hope Center serves households which include single adults, unrelated groups of adults sharing a residence, families and extended families. We serve persons with disabilities, the homeless, people who are employed, unemployed or underemployed. We are now an Infant Care Site so we are able to provide formula to children less than one year of age.

Many donations such as plastic grocery bags for clients to carry their food in, personal hygiene items, diapers, wipes, hotel size soaps, shampoos, lotions, as well as gently used & clean clothing, linens, towels, etc. are welcome. These can be placed in the bins in the Gathering Space.

Did you know that we are able to purchase food from Feeding America? For example, a $10 donation enables us to purchase 100 lbs of food. A gift to Jim Luther New Hope Center is a great way to honor a birthday, anniversary or memorial for friends and family!

Should you wish to donate in this manner you can make a check payable to Jim Luther New Hope Center and mail it to:
