Trustees have sole and total control of the Fund, together as one.

The Fund is like a ‘river of hope’ flowing outward providing an opportunity to support those in need, through Catholic social justice activities outside of and in addition to the areas we currently support through our St. Anthony Partners in Mercy.

Every act of generosity matters. People participate in different ways, but, together, those efforts create meaningful change. This Fund is an invitation for people to be part of something that reflects faith and compassion, but even farther and wider than we can do today.

The Fund fosters hope with the social justice actions beyond the parish. This is about becoming the people we are called to be, becoming what we pray.

A $100,000 commitment to the Fund by an anonymous St. Anthony couple started the Fund. The inaugural seed donation of $50,000 was made on May 1, 2026. An additional $50,000 is planned for 1-1 community contribution match.

The entire community: children, teens, families, singles, adults, retirees, businesses, investors, ministry groups, bequests, and any other interested parties, even if not currently St. Anthony parish members.

• Minimum $5.00 saved from a child’s allowance
• Teens’ Starbucks amount, one a month
• Families’ match a sports team fee
• Workers’ bonus tithe
• Employer matching
• Businesses’ profit tithe
• Retirees’ IRA Qualified Charitable Donations (up to $111,000 in 2026)

You can contribute to the fund in a number of ways. You can contribute directly, using MySal Giving, or the QR Code. If you wish to write a check, please make it payable to St. Anthony on the Lake and note the A-Z Legacy Fund in the memo. Stock or company matching contributions are also welcome.

Initially, the Fund is hoped to be $150,000 by March 1, 2027, with an ultimate goal upward of $300,000 or more in donations.

The fund represents values that have always been important: compassion, faith in action, caring for people in need, and serving beyond ourselves. The goodness of people who want to make a difference and the connections to serving others and bringing hope are what make St. Anthony on the Lake so special.

• These works are not about one person or one moment in time but carrying forward a spirit of generosity and service that the Trustees and St. Anthony live.
• This Fund is not a substitute for regular parish operational support, but rather the natural next step of stewardship.

• Donations are deposited into a Restricted St. Anthony Account, the St. Anthony Long-Term Investment Fund (LTIF),
• These assets are managed by an Investment Advisor Team chosen by the Parish Directors (Pastor and Parish Trustees) upon advice of the St. Anthony Advisory Board/Endowment Committee

• Investment choices are bound by the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) Guidelines for Social Justice
• St. Anthony Investment Policy Statement for the Long Term Investment Fund, which outlines goals, diversification, risk, etc.

• There are several sub-accounts under the St. Anthony Long Term Investment Fund, which includes the A-Z Legacy Fund, as a sub-account.
• Each sub-account shares proportionately in the investment experience.

There are quarterly valuations, with an annual report to the St. Anthony Finance Council.

• Sole and total control of the Trustees in sync with the St. Anthony on the Lake Mission Statement in effect at the Fund’s inception, and in coordination with the St. Anthony Human Concerns Committee.
• Catholic Relief Services is the likely conveyor of the distributions, though others could be chosen.

• Caring for God’s people per Pope Leo XIV’s Magnifica Humanitas
• Caring for God’s planet per Pope Francis’s Laudato Si

• Emergency: Venezuelan earthquakes
• Sustaining: Madagascar food insecurity & farming futureship.

They represent the parish and support the Trustees, e.g., may identify opportunities, challenges, or concerns.

The Fund is focused on global and domestic needs beyond the regularly supported St. Anthony Partners in Mercy.

• Acts as onsite evaluators of global needs
• Has immediate, direct delivery of distributions
• Exhibits effective, responsible, efficient situation management

• Witnesses to the St. Anthony community and beyond through the Trustees’ leadership, transparent reporting, and communications,
• Models philanthropy, teaches stewardship, embraces legacy giving, welcomes matching gifts, and lives out global solidarity in pursuit of the common good.
