A Faith That Shines
2027 Annual Stewardship Renewal
In the Gospel this weekend, Matthew 25:1-13, Jesus shares the parable of the ten virgins, reminding us of the importance of being prepared and ready for the Lord. The wise women brought enough oil to keep
their lamps burning while they waited for the bridegroom. Their preparation reminds us that faithfulness is not simply a one-time decision, but something we nurture and practice each day. As disciples of Christ, we are called to be intentional in how we live our faith and how we use the gifts God has entrusted to us.
This is what stewardship is all about. God has blessed each of us with unique gifts, including our prayer, time, talent, and treasure. We are called to share these gifts generously, using them to serve others, strengthen our parish, and make Christ’s love known in the world. Being a good steward means recognizing that all we have is a gift from God and choosing to put those gifts to work for the good of others. Like the wise women who prepared their lamps, we must be intentional about nurturing our faith and finding ways to live it out each day.
At Mass this weekend, we also reflected on the models of holiness in our lives: the people who inspire us through their prayer, kindness, generosity, and commitment to their faith. These individuals show us what it means to live as disciples of Christ, often through simple, everyday acts of love and service. As we embrace our theme for the year, Models of Holiness, Witnesses of Peace, we are reminded that holiness is not something we simply admire in others. It is a calling we each share by virtue of our baptism. We are invited to learn from those who have inspired us and, in turn, become models of holiness and peace for others.
Each of us has a role to play in building a stronger, more welcoming, and faith-filled parish community. Whether we volunteer our time, share our talents, and/or support our parish through giving, our actions can make a meaningful difference.
We may never know the full impact of our generosity, but even the smallest acts of stewardship can reflect God’s love and inspire others to do the same.
Thank you to everyone who shares their time, talent, treasure, and prayer with our parish. Your generosity and commitment are important, make a real difference, and help keep the flame of faith alive in our community. If you are not yet involved in parish ministries or are considering making your first gift, I invite you to prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to get involved at the parish. There is a place for each of us to contribute to the life and mission of our parish family. Next week is Commitment Weekend, where each of us will be asked to consider how God is inviting us to be good stewards here.
Let us each commit to doing our part. May we be intentional about sharing our gifts, serving one another with joyful hearts, and bringing Christ’s peace into our homes, our parish, and our wider community. May we keep the lamps of our faith burning brightly, following the example of the holy men and women who inspire us and striving to become models of holiness and witnesses of peace in all that we do.
Thank you to everyone who has already completed the renewal! We are grateful for your generosity and continued support of our parish.
If you haven’t yet had a chance to share your time, talent, and treasure, please visit our Annual Stewardship Renewal page to participate.
