A Litany of Thanks!
What a Mass of Thanksgiving! What a gathering of people! What a party!
These are the words I heard repeatedly at our Jubilee celebration on May 30. Both Fr. Ken and myself were overwhelmed… everything from the beautiful lilies of the valley centerpieces, to the delicious and abundant food, to the choir singing so tenderly: “In Remembrance of Me,” to the outstanding video, to the moving testimonials, filled our hearts with joy. It truly was a celebration of church! The best of Her people coming forth to offer their best… and there are many who made this possible. Namely:
- Art Scheuber who orchestrated the entire reception;
- Vince LaTona who organized our entire liturgy;
- Taylor Baar who created our video and invitations;
- Our entire front office staff who put together the worship aids, mailed out our invitations, tracked our RSVP’s, and so much more;
- Jeff Kleczka from Prasser -Kleczka Funeral Homes who created and donated our prayer cards;
- Tracy and Dennis Bohrer from The Gingerbread House who baked and donated our cake;
- Peggy Ziegler and her team who created the magnificent centerpieces and the décor in our church;
- Ben Zimmer, Jim Guidinger and our entire maintenance crew for setting up, taking down, and cleaning our facilities;
- Our Funeral Luncheon Ladies who worked so hard to serve our food and then some;
- Mark Vanchina, in spite of his health, did a fantastic job planning the menu and creating all of the food. We wish him all the best in his upcoming surgery;
- Julie Farrell and her jazz ensemble who beautifully entertained us during our reception;
- Ron and Ellen Knippel who offered such loving testimonials;
- Deacon Dennis Petrie who served as our MC, and all our liturgical ministers;
- The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for loaning our matching vestments;
- And finally, our brother priests who con-celebrated, and our family, close friends, and parishioners who joined us in prayer and thanksgiving to our good and generous God.
We will savor the many memories and wondrous moments of May 30. May the good Lord continue to bless you with His abundant grace!
With grateful blessings, Fr. Tony and Fr. Ken
