Welcome to Walking Through Lent with Our Creator - Scriptural Reflections

Kate Burke • February 9, 2024

Welcome to our Lenten Scriptural Reflections on Creation Care! I am excited to journey through Lent together!

When God created the earth and all the living things (including us!), God called it “very good.” When we look to nature, we can see this goodness everywhere. When we receive a very good gift, it’s best to appreciate it, thank the giver, and take care of it… and that’s what Care for Creation is all about. We, Earth Ministry within Human Concerns, are excited to embark on this journey together, walking through Lent with our Creator. By subscribing or following our blog, you will be invited to join us each week to:

Read : the scripture selection identified for the Ash Wednesday or Sunday reading.

Pray or journal: what word or phrase speaks to your emotion or intellect?

Read: the provided reflection linking the scripture selection to creation care.

Pray or journal: what speaks to your emotion or intellect and what might you do?

Blessings,

Kate (Chair of Human Concerns)

Holy Hour for Hope
By Deacon Dennis Petrie June 18, 2025
Holy Hour for Hope Friday, June 27 | 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. St. Anthony on the Lake As part of the Church’s observance of the Jubilee Year of Hope, on Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m - 9 a.m., St Anthony Parish will join parishes throughout the Archdiocese in celebrating a Holy Hour for Hope on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Come at 7:30 a.m. for a Communion Service as well! We will reflect on the source of our hope: the self-giving love of Christ revealed on the cross and in the Eucharist. Join us to pray for the gift of hope in our hearts, homes, Church, and world! Click here for times and locations at other parishes around the Archdiocese.
