Divine Mercy University Mission Trip to Kenya -

providing trauma counseling and support to underprivileged communities.

Dear St. Anthony on the Lake Community,

My name is Malachi John Moon, and I grew up at St. Anthony on the Lake, where I attended grade school from 3rd to 8th grade. I was actively involved in the drama and athletic programs, which helped shape my high school aspirations. Most significantly, it was there that I received my First Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation, laying the foundation of my Catholic faith. Now, all grown up, I’m excited to join the First Response Trauma Team from Divine Mercy University on a mission trip to Kenya this summer.

We will work alongside Dr. Benjamin Keyes, Ph.D., Ed.D., and the Christian ministry, Into Abba’s Arms, to provide trauma counseling and support to underprivileged communities. Our mission is to demonstrate Christ’s love through training local leaders, comforting victims, and offering a mobile clinic for mental health care.

Divine Mercy University integrates psychological sciences with Catholic-Christian anthropology, equipping us to bring healing in a faith-based context. We are being trained in sexual trauma, compassion fatigue, PTSD, and disaster mental health to better serve children, women, and families in need.

The total cost for each team member is $3,900. I humbly ask for your prayers and support to make this mission a reality. Donations can be made by visiting the Divine Mercy University website. When entering a donation amount, please ensure you include the decimal and "00" after the dollar amount. The other option is a direct Venmo donation to the following address: @kaimoon99.

Thank you for your generosity and prayers as we bring Christ’s love and healing to those in need in Kenya. If you have any questions or want to learn more, feel free to email me at malachi.moon@divinemercy.edu.

Blessings,

Malachi John Moon
