Supporting Our Partners in Mercy

Terry Robinson • April 30, 2026
“This is the fasting that I wish…setting free the oppressed, sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, and not turning your back on your own. Then your light shall break forth like the dawn…”  -from Isaiah 58:6-8

Our Human Concerns outreach at the parish supports our five “Partners in Mercy,” as well as many other ministries. Here are a few ways we do that:

Family Promise of Waukesha – Providing meals or groceries to clients that are temporarily living in apartments to avoid homelessness.

MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary – Providing bedding, towels, clothing for adults, household items, etc. as well as volunteering at the Sanctuary.

People’s Table – Milwaukee – Stocking and providing food at the pantry for area residents in need.

Santisimo Sacramento – our Sister Parish in Peru – Supporting a family in the Family-to-Family program, financial help to the parish in many ways, or visiting during Peru mission trips.

St. Vincent de Paul – Donations collected in the donation bin in the North parking lot or financial help.

Upcoming campaigns that we will be supporting this Spring into Fall are:

Lake Country Caring – During the month of May we will have an “Undie 500” campaign. Donations of underwear for men, women, and children will be accepted in the Gathering Space.

Garden of Hope – We are looking for volunteers to help in our “Garden of Hope.” You may sign up as an individual, family, or as a group. Service is for one week to plant, water, weed and harvest. For more information, a tour of the garden, or to sign up for a week this summer, contact Kathy Waters at szowat@wi.rr.com

St. Vincent de Paul – A week in July we will collect non-perishable food (snacks) to pack a week’s worth of lunches for the children in need in Waukesha. The early part of July we will also collect back to school supplies during our “Back to School” campaign.

Respect Life – The Waukesha Chapter of Wisconsin Right to Life will be hosting an information booth at the Waukesha County Fair, Wednesday July 15 - Sunday, July 19, 2026. Our Respect Life Committee is looking for volunteers to work in pairs at the booth for three-hour shifts. Contact Phil Heinle at qualityheinle@gmail.com. In October we will be running the “Baby Bottle” campaign. There will be baby bottles in the Gathering Space to take home and collect monetary donations for Life’s Connection.

If you would like more information on the many ministries we serve or would like to volunteers, please reach out to Terry Robinson at robinsont@stanthony.cc. Thank you for helping us be the hands and feet of Christ in our community!
