Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Are you a parent of a young child? Here are options for your children during the 9:00 Mass.

  • First you are most welcome to bring your children to Mass and have them stay with you during the Mass.
  • Or you are most welcome to have your children 4 and under in our wonderful free Child Care.
  • A third option during the 9:00 Mass is to have you children ages 4 through 1st grade in church with you but have them participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW). No pre-registration is necessary. All children are welcome and encouraged to attend.

How does Children’s Liturgy of the Word work?St. Anthony on the Lake Children's Liturgy of the Word

Just before the Liturgy of the Word begins for the assembly, children will be invited to go with the leaders from the church into either the Daily Mass Chapel or the Resource Room. They will return to their families after the Prayers of the Faithful. During this special time, the children through prayers, songs and readings learn about the same Scriptures as the rest of the assembly. They are taught a simplified main message of the readings and are encouraged to share that message with their parents after Mass.

Please consider helping to lead our children for about 20 minutes during Mass. This is a gift to our young children so they hear the Word of God at their ability to understand it. Call or contact Kathie Amidei at amideik@stanthony.cc or Debbie Kusch at kuschd@stanthony.cc in the Faith Formation office (262- 691-9170) if you have any questions or wish to be part of this liturgical experience. Parents and older siblings who would like to assist us are also welcome to help by signing up to help via SignUp Genius. Click here to volunteer.

We hope this is one more way our children have a meaningful encounter with the Word of the Lord!
