Peru Shipping Container - August 2019

MUCH help will be needed to load the Container on August 14th beginning at 10:00am.  Please help if you are able!

Collection Dates August 3rd thru August 11th in the Parish Life Center. We cannot accept items prior to August 3rd. Due to our Shareholder’s Brunch on August 4th, dropoffs on August 3rd and 4th will be through an alternate door to the PLC.  Please watch for signs posted at the PLC entrance. 

All donations must be in GOOD, CLEAN condition. If you would not consider giving it to a friend, then it probably should not be sent to Peru. We are unable to accept: furniture, mattresses, appliances, paint, leftover rummage items!

Acceptable donations include:

  • Bicycles in good working condition
  • Hand Tools
  • Blankets, Sheets, Towels
  • Medical Equip: crutches, walkers, wheelchairs
  • Books or games in Spanish
  • Nursery items: crib, stroller, playpen, etc.
  • Canned foods: soups, vegetables, fruits, tuna, etc.
  • Plastic containers with lids
  • Clothesline and clothespins
  • Pots & Pans
  • Clothing: Adults, baby, children for spring/summer/fall
  • School Supplies
  • Dish & Laundry Soap
  • Sewing Kits
  • Dishes, silverware
  • Soccer balls
  • Folding chairs
  • Toiletries: deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc.
  • Garden tools
  • Shovels, Work Gloves

FAMILY to FAMILY SPONSOR PACKAGES

We require special bins in which to pack Family to Family items (information on these bins can be found here). These new bins will alleviate packages that have been crushed when sent in the past. There will also be a weight limit of 40 lbs. per bin. Feel free to pack two bins if you are over 40 lbs. 

The cost to ship a Family to Family bin is $10 each, necessary to help defray the cost of shipping the container. Payment is due at the time of bin drop off and should be placed in an envelope with your name and FAMILY to FAMILY #, with a second copy of a completed inventory form, lightly taped to the outside of your bin. Checks can be made payable to St. Anthony on the Lake.

The 2-part Inventory form can be cut in half. One should be securely taped to the outside of your bin and the second lightly taped so we can pull it off for inventorying. No need to tape the bins shut; they will be wire-tied in the corners when dropped off at the parish.
